Warehouse Supervisor

SUMMARY
The Warehouse Supervisor plays a key role in material handling of all inbound material purchases and outbound shipments at our Rocky Mount manufacturing facility.They coordinate delivery times with carriers and internal procurement and logistics departments. They execute and maintain department SOPs, facilitate material dispositions, and ensure timely processing of inventory transactions in the ERP system. The warehouse supervisor oversees the department staff, communicates with internal partners and external vendors on a regular basis, both verbally and in writing.  Professional, timely, and effective communication is essential in this role.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Lead day‑to‑day warehouse, inventory, and shipping operations, including inbound material receipts, internal material handling, and outbound customer shipments

  • Coordinate delivery schedules with carriers and closely partner with Procurement, Logistics, Production, and Quality teams

  • Maintain accurate inventory records by utilizing the ERP system and leading cycle counts and inventory audits

  • Ensure warehouse storage conditions support product quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance

  • Promote a culture of safety, respect, and accountability, ensuring safe working practices are followed consistently

  • Train, coach, and develop warehouse team members to meet operational, safety, and quality expectations

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with team members, plant leadership, and external partners (verbal and written)

  • Identify opportunities to improve material flow, space utilization, inventory accuracy, and shipping efficiency

  • Lead and participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Kaizen, 5S)

  • Develop employee schedules that align staffing coverage with production and shipping demands

  • Address obsolete or excess inventory through organized review and disposition processes

  • Document process deviations and support corrective and preventive action plans

  • Perform additional tasks as needed to support business operations


SUPERVISORY

  • Directly supervises three (3) warehouse associates, providing clear expectations, coaching, and performance feedback

  • Conducts regular performance discussions focused on growth, accountability, and team success

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or lead experience within a warehouse, distribution, inventory control, or shipping/receiving environment

  • Demonstrated experience supporting operational improvements on a shift or within a department

  • Hands‑on knowledge of inventory management systems, cycle counting, and material movement processes

  • Experience working in environments with cGMP, food safety, or regulated manufacturing standards

  • Working knowledge of continuous improvement tools (e.g., root cause analysis, 5S, fishbone diagrams)

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize competing demands

  • Comfortable communicating across all levels of the organization in an inclusive, respectful manner

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems


EXPERIENCE

  • Requires at least three years of supervisory experience that includes demonstrated operational improvement on their shift.

  • Working knowledge of cGMP and/or Food Safety regulations

Salary starting at $85,000
